To onboard individuals, we will ask for personal details and for information about the intended use of the account. We may ask for documents to confirm the details provided, details of acceptable documents are provided below.
Proof of id
This is required for individuals that are based outside of the UK and the US.
Individuals from the UK or the US will not be required to add an ID document - there is a small chance this may be requested at a later stage if we fail to verify the individual using other identification methods.
We accept the following documents as proof of identity:
- passport (1 image);
- passport card (1 image);
- driving license (2 images, front + back);
- national identification card (2 images);
- state id (2 images);
- residence permit (2 images); or
- visa (1 image).
Which of these documents will be acceptable for a particular individual will depend on their home country (see here for full list). User must provide a clear color photo of the full id document, with no glare.
Proof of address
We will only ask for this on our Individuals Form. This is required for individuals based outside of the UK and US.
Individuals from the UK or US will not be required to provide Proof of Address in our form - there is a small chance this may be requested at a later stage if we fail to verify the individual using other identification methods.
The document should be dated within the last 3 months and clearly state both the individual’s address and their full name.
We accept the following documents as proof of address:
- driving licence
- bank statement
- mortgage statement
- utility bill
- residence card
- credit card statement
- council tax letter
Proof of source of funds
We will request this as optional in both the Individuals Form and the Corporates Form, only where the applicant's wishes are assessed to be high risk.
This can be any documentation to prove where the money paid into the account will come from, for example:
- proof of investment
- proof of inheritance
- bank statement
- balance sheet / P&L
- tax return
- annual financial statement
- proof of shareholder/partners/settlors funds
