We have listed below the 2024 dates of the key holidays that are most likely to affect our client base. There are many other holidays that may impact your transaction, depending on the currencies involved.
Payments: You can still send payments during any holidays, including the key ones listed below, but you may experience a delay of 1-2 days of the funds arriving at the beneficiary. This is due to banks worldwide operating different opening hours over holiday periods.
Quotes and conversions: Normal holiday settlement rules apply during holiday periods. For example, this means that you won't be able to book GBP trades that settle on UK Bank Holidays or EUR trades that settle on European Public Holidays. Check out our Get Conversion Dates API which will tell you the trading holidays for a given currency pair.
Typically, we'd expect market liquidity to be thinner around key holiday dates. On these dates, we recommend that clients settle trades or date change as early as possible. If you need help with this, please raise a ticket in Support and let us know as soon as you can.
Collections: You can still top up your balance during the holidays, but you may experience a delay of 1-2 days of the funds appearing in your account. This is due to banks worldwide operating different opening hours over holiday periods.
Our offices will be closed in line with the public holidays in each region, however our customer support desks will always remain open and will be ready to help answer any questions you have. Feel free to get in touch online, via email, or on the phone.
Be aware that many currencies are triangulated; meaning that they are converted via an intermediary currency. Holidays affecting the intermediary currency, as well as the sale and purchase currencies, will impact the conversion timeline. Find out which currencies are triangulated in our triangulated currencies article.
