When sending local USD payments, you must provide the payer’s address details in line with the postal address standards used in the payer’s country.
These requirements apply to both:
- International ACH (IAT) payments
- RTP payments
Providing accurate address information helps reduce the risk of payment delays, rejections, or processing issues.
Required payer address fields
Where the following address components exist in the payer’s country, they must be provided:
- Payer state or province
- Payer postcode or ZIP code
If the payer’s country does not use states, provinces, postcodes, or ZIP codes as part of its standard address format, those fields may be left blank. Do not enter placeholder values such as N/A, 00000, NA, or -. These may cause payment processing issues.
State or province requirements
Some countries require a state or province as part of a valid postal address.
If the payer is located in one of the following countries, the payer state or province field must be populated:
| Australia | India |
| Brazil | Malaysia |
| Canada | Mexico |
| China | US |
For payers in these countries, leaving the state or province field blank may result in payment processing delays or rejection.
Postcode or ZIP code requirements
For most countries, a postcode or ZIP code should be provided where one exists.
However, some countries and territories do not use a postcode or ZIP code as part of their standard address system. For payers located in these countries or territories, the payer postcode field is optional and may be left blank.
