When you fund accounts held in Currencycloud’s name, we automatically identify the correct client account from the client reference provided.
When do I need to reference funds?
You should reference funds for accounts that are in Currencycloud’s name, i.e. accounts that are not named accounts. Funds with client references are automatically matched to the correct client account.
What happens if I forget to reference my funds?
We hold the funds for a maximum of 5 days. If during this time we receive proof of payment from you, we proceed to credit the account. If we do not receive proof of payment, we return the funds to the sender at the end of the 5 days.
Where can I find my client reference?
From Currencycloud Direct, the client reference is the Account Id that is shown on the account details page. It is also returned by the Accounts API, where it is referred to as short_reference. The client reference takes the format YYMMDD-XXXXX.
What is a valid proof of payment?
The proof of payment should be a digital receipt showing that a payment was made from your bank account to Currencycloud. A scanned version or a photo is acceptable, as is a screenshot from your online banking system.
The proof of payment should show:
- the payer’s name, account number and bank name
- the Currencycloud account name and number that the funds were paid to
- the payment details - including the amount, currency, reference and payment date
If your bank is in Australia or New Zealand, we also need a bank statement showing your name, date of issue and bank details.
Where do I upload the proof of payment?
From Currencycloud Direct, click on the Support option and choose to raise a ticket. Files can be uploaded as part of raising a ticket.
Can I provide proof of payment from my client?
Yes
What happens if I don’t provide proof of payment?
After 5 days the funds are returned to the sender.
