To help keep your account secure, we limit the number of IP addresses that can access it via the API. This means that we block any unrecognized IP address.
What do I need to do?
You need to confirm that the IP address for the contact that you use to access our API is registered against your account. This can be done from within Currencycloud Direct, instructions can be found below. Once registered, the contact will be linked to the IP address you choose, and all other IP addresses will be blocked from accessing the API.
How do I check my IP address?
Check the links below for instructions.
How do I change the IP address registered on my approved list?
On direct.currencycloud.com navigate to the ‘Get in Touch’ section of the left-hand menu.
Click ‘Report a Technical Issue’ and select ‘Update IP allowlist’ as the ‘Type of Technical Issue’.
Enter your house account reference, your API contact username, your new IP address which will replace your current IP address and the date you wish the new IP address to be changed.
Click ‘Send’ and a support ticket will be raised to Currencycloud.
How can I identify an IP issue?
You will know an IP issue has occurred if you receive a 401-response code (unauthorized).
What should I do if an issue has occurred?
Update your IP address in the approved list (following instructions above). For any further issues, reach out to your Customer Success Manager.
How long will it take to restrict my account to my current IP address?
Once your IP address has been configured for your account, access to your account from any other IP address will no longer be permitted.
How long will any subsequent IP changes take?
As long as you provide the required 3-day notice, any planned IP changes will be implemented promptly.
Does this affect my access to Currencycloud Direct?
No, only API access will be restricted to the specific IP address for the contact you use to interact with it directly. You can still access Currencycloud Direct from any IP address in permitted jurisdictions using your other contacts.
